I am originally from the Bay Area, but was trained in Los Angeles and Orange Counties. I have been in the field of social work and mental health for over 15 years. My professional background includes working in a variety of roles and settings with many populations, however, my passion has always been in providing psychotherapy services. Over the years, I have witnessed my clients delve deeply into learning about themselves and have shifted into happier and more productive people.
My goal as your therapist is to create a warm and safe space to be ( or practice being) exactly who you are, unapologetically. We are often told who or what we "should be" or "should be doing". My belief is that this thinking is limiting and does not promote growth.
My style is collaborative, friendly, candid and humorous, but I do challenge my clients to explore negative thought patterns, address self care techniques, and remove blocks to motivation and forward movement. I use theories and techniques rooted in Narrative, Cognitive Behavioral, Mindfulness and Self Compassion therapies.
